Thank you to our volunteers!

Thanks to all our workers and volunteers who made our Farmers Market Summer Season a great success — Carol and Fletcher Sheppard, Jayne and John Fullerton, Gayle Christopher, Carol Bettis, Jean and John Nelson, Charles Drennen, Damian Drennen, Cassie Wooten, and last but not least, my sweet husband, Jim!

TaraAs we close out our Farmer’s Market summer season, we are moving full force into developing our eBay store, Best Bargain Deals Now. We’ve already hired our first worker in this division, Tara, to help with product inspections, sorting and data entry. Tara has just completed a two year program at The WellHouse, a place of grace and recovery for women coming out of human trafficking. She regained custody of her 6-year-old son more than two years ago, and she’s remained steady on her road to recovery. She is at Jefferson State Community College, having finished her first year of a two year program in Radiology Technology. She comes to us with a heart for God, a willing spirit, a great work ethic and good computer skills. We are so pleased to be able to provide her a Christ-centered, sheltered work environment as she transitions from WellHouse to other living arrangements by the end of the month. Thank you Community Presbyterian Church in Moody for our wonderful space!

Tara is working for us now on a part-time basis, but would like more hours. We would love to be able to extend her hours, but financially we’re not there yet. If you would like to help her on her road to recovery, please donate now (click the link to donate securely via PayPal). Your gift will be used only to pay for her additional hours.

If we have ten people contributing only $15 per person a week, Tara could immediately work another 15 hours for a total of 30. We are better together and can touch lives more effectively by pooling our resources! And your donation is tax deductible!

Check out our Ebay Store: Best Bargain Deals Now

Best Bargain Deals NowIn keeping with our focus on God’s restorative nature of turning ashes to beauty, Best Bargain Deals Now sells discarded items that, with a little tweaking, are perfectly good. We’re specializing in shelf pulled, returned or damaged Health & Beauty products from major drug and big box stores that we’re selling at HUGE discounts, well below retail and even wholesale prices. We’re also featuring new and used electronics in our store, so if you’d like to donate your old computer, keyboard, monitor, phones, etc., we’d be delighted to take them off your hands! We’ve already sold more than 300 items, have 370+ active listings and have earned the highest rating from Ebay for our store! Praise God!

We’ll continue to sell our scrumptious tea cakes at Pepper Place and various Fall Festivals, and in keeping with the season, we’ll be featuring Pumpkin, Chocolate Gingerbread, Cranberry Orange Nut and our signature Brandied Apple Spice.

Christmas will be here before you know it!  Next month we’ll feature our beautiful holiday baskets that will be available for sale in November and December.

All first fruits proceeds go right back into the ministry to help provide much needed paid work for women coming out of addictions, poverty, homelessness, abuse and other difficult situations. If you feel the Lord is moving you to help women in need, please donate to our ministry or contact us at 205-612-8544. We have much to do to provide help and hope to hurting women.

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” Matthew 9:35-38.
